Pinterest Pin with two styled photos of stewed plums and the recipe titleNow updated for 2021!

Each week, along with the CSA (community supported agriculture), I receive a newsletter from Strites Orchard about what is in the CSA and recipes for the items in the CSA. This week, the newsletter had a recipe for stewed plums. It was too good to pass up.

I adapted the recipe to be sugar free and instead added cup of honey. It turned out very sweet, so use 1/8 cup of honey for a more tart stew. The plums also look and smell beautiful as they’re cooking.

Stewed plums are sweet and actually very versatile. You can keep them whole or use a spoon to mash them into a sauce. The first time I made stewed plums, I served it on top of oatmeal, but it can also be served with toast, waffles, yogurt, cake, or even ice cream. Its a great addition to breakfast, lunch, or dinner! It will store in the fridge for up to a week, if it lasts that long!

If you’re not part of a CSA, you can also get plums from Misfits Market! In fact, for the updated recipe, I used raw wildflower honey I purchased from Misfits Market. Wildflower honey is my favorite type of honey as it has a light, floral flavor to it. It’s perfect with almost any type of fruit or sweet dessert recipe!
