Ive been getting into non-alcoholic drinks and mocktails and have found many that call for different simple syrups. You can make a simple syrup out of almost anything! Vanilla, herbs, tea, honey, cinnamon. The possibilities are almost unlimited. The following is an easy recipe for cherry simple syrup. All you need are cherries, sugar, and water!Cherry Simple Syrup Pin

Did you enjoy my recipe for wildflower honey simple syrup? Well, Ive got one even better for you today: cherry simple syrup. You can pour it over pancakes or ice cream and even use it to sweeten up your Dry January mocktails.

I love sweet cherries. As its winter here, theyre not in season, so I used a bag of frozen cherries from Walmart. Theyre already pitted and ready to use so I didnt have to do any extra work. There are no preservatives or extra ingredients and so this syrup will keep in the fridge for about a month. I store mine in a glass mason jar.

Simply simmer the ingredients, muddle the cherries, and strain the syrup into a container and youre done! Well almost! We dont like anything to go to waste in this house, so after straining the cherry simple syrup, I used the leftover cherries in a batch of brownies for a sweet treat!Photo of cherries in a pan next to a photo with sugar added to those cherriesTwo photos of the cherry simple syrup simmering
