Confession:  I don’t usually wear makeup.  I haven’t worn anything more than lip gloss since college.  However, Sandrah at LittleStuff4u who makes my favorite lavender scented moisturizing face cream also makes cruelty free mineral makeup.  I decided to buy some sample size eye shadow, blush, and lip color and do my first mineral makeup review.

I am much more confident without makeup and think I look darn good without, too.  Once in college, I had a date and my roommate did my makeup (Hi, Steph!). The only thing I remember is bold purple eye shadow.  The first thing I told my date was, “I don’t normally look like this.” I sure am charming.

Learning my lesson from wearing colors that were too bold, I decided on a few colors from Sandrah that I thought would look good with my skin tone and eye color and serve as a makeup I could wear everyday.

I also bought a set of makeup tools and watched a bunch of YouTube videos to learn how to properly apply makeup since I’m a noob (do people still say that?).

The Cabana lipstick might just be my new favorite lipstick.  It applies super smooth and has peach tones that are bright without overdoing it.  I do believe it’s even helping to moisturize my lips. It’s a great product and I might even buy a whole tube of it once I use up the sample.

The sample size for the Cabana lipstick is $3 while the full size tube is $13.

I don’t have eye shadow primer, so instead I used a little Vaseline, which actually works great as a primer for powdered mineral eye shadow.  The Pandora eye shadow is a loose powder that is mostly mauve or plum colored. It’s got a nice soft shimmer to it, too. I have dry eyes and so I was worried about trying on this eye shadow, but hours after I put it on, my eyes weren’t bothering me at all.  The mineral eye shadow is great if you have sensitive eyes. I really like how the light the color is and yet still noticeable.

The Pandora eye shadow ranges in price from $1.25 for a small sample to $12 for a 20 gram jar.

I tried to find a nice light blush and found Baby Kisses.  It’s a nice neutral pink color and I found out that a little bit goes a long way.  I first applied just a little too much, but using the contour brush and the fan brush helped blend the blush so it didn’t look overdone.

Baby Kisses ranges from $1 for a sample to $20 for a 45 gram jar.

Overall, I am really happy with this makeup and was pleasantly surprised with the look I achieved after applying the lipstick, eye shadow, and blush.  The feel of the makeup is great and honestly feels like I’m not wearing any at all, which is great for those with sensitive skin, like me.

One of the best things about the makeup from LittleStuff4u is the ability to purchase sample sizes so you can try out a product to see if you like it before buying the full size option.
