Orange Vanilla Bean Breakfast Smoothie
I have been obsessed with orange juice lately. Whenever I feel bad, I drink a glass of 100% orange juice with pulp, of course, and almost immediately start to feel better. Starting the day with a fresh and sweet glass of orange juice is great, but mixing it into a breakfast smoothie is even better.
I want to take a minute to praise the vanilla bean yogurt from Gettysburg Creamery. Gettysburg Creamery is a small, family operated, and veteran owned business located near Gettysburg, PA. All of their dairy products are made with Apple Valley Creamery milk so you know it has to be good. You have to check out the vanilla bean specks in the yogurt. It’s beautiful.
I purchased the yogurt with my home delivery from Apple Valley Creamery and threw it in the freezer. It froze very well. The yogurt was easy to thaw by putting it in a bowl of warm water. It can also be thawed in the fridge if you have the time.
Combining the orange juice, vanilla bean yogurt, and just two other ingredients, makes this breakfast smoothie taste like a creamsicle.
This inspiration for this smoothie comes from my grandfather. He’s got some health issues and needs to gain weight. He drinks a lot of nutritional drinks but was complaining that they all taste the same. This breakfast smoothie is filling and healthy and makes a great addition to his health regimen.
