Is Chronic Fatigue Syndrome Real? Part 2
The opinions expressed on my blog are based on my own thoughts, knowledge, and experiences. I am not a doctor nor do I have any medical training at all, so please consult your doctor if you have any questions about your health. This post is not intended to be a substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment.
Hi all, here is the second part to my article about being diagnosed with chronic fatigue syndrome. The doctor prescribed me a few different medications but I had reactions to all of them. I love my doctor, but I knew medication was not going to be the solution.
A cure for restless legs
My co-worker introduced me to CBD oil. I was very hesitant about ingesting anything, so I was very happy to find out it was available in a balm. I previously used magnesium oil on my legs so I decided to incorporate both of them into my daily routine. After every shower, I spray the magnesium oil on my legs. Every night before I go to bed, I use the CBD oil balm. The feeling of restless legs is almost completely gone and I am sleeping so much better. My fatigue has decreased dramatically so I know that the restless legs had something to do with it.
Because I figured my restless legs had a lot to do with my fatigue, I cancelled my appointment with a sleep specialist.
Genetic health report
I did my DNA through Ancestry a few years ago, but only recently did I use it to run a genetic health report. It confirmed some things I already knew about my health, like my susceptibility to heart disease. It was also extremely interesting to learn I had a lot of genetic markers for migraines. However, the one thing that surprised me the most was the number of genetic markers I had for macular degeneration. My grandmother currently has this, so I knew the risk factor was there.
Because of this, I have started taking a fish oil supplement every day. I know I need to find a good multivitamin for my eye health, but I have not found one that doesn’t give me a headache. I will keep looking to hopefully decrease the odds of developing macular degeneration.
Next steps
Since alleviating my restless legs, I have alleviated the chronic fatigue syndrome I was diagnosed with. So, to answer the initial question, yes, chronic fatigue syndrome is real, but there are other conditions or symptoms that can affect its severity. My next step in taking control of my health is going to be adding exercise to my daily routine. I eat a healthy diet and know my migraines are triggered mainly by how much sleep I get.
With a combination of CBD oil balm, magnesium oil, vitamins or supplements, eye drops, a healthy diet and exercise, I believe I can alleviate much of what ails me. I know it may seem like a lot. If it helps me to feel like a person everyday, I know I have to do it. Ultimately, I would love to alleviate my migraines on a regular basis, but since I have had them for years and never found a solution, I don’t know that I ever will.
