On Saturday, we hosted a wine tasting party with a family friend who is a Wine Guide from The Traveling Vineyard. My mom and I attended a party hosted by her best friend a few weeks ago and decided it would be fun to host one of our own. The weather was beautiful and sunny, so of course we had the party outside. There were about 15 guests who were friends and family members.wine tasting party

For those of you who have never attended or hosted a wine tasting party, it is so much fun! We started with a fun experiment involving jelly beans. Our Wine Guide first gave us a brief overview of The Traveling Vineyard and explained that the wines we were tasting were exclusive to the company. They receive grapes from all over the world and then make a limited number of wines from those grapes.

My favorites were a white wine called Caballeria de Luna and a sweet dessert wine called Double Date.

The party didnt stop after the tastings were done, which is what made party great. After the tastings, we got to finish the bottles we sampled from and we played a game of Wine-O. Then, everyone was given the opportunity to purchase bottle of their favorite wine which will be delivered to the hosts house since they do not keep bottles for sale at the party. All of our family and friends had a great time.wine tasting party
