Combine the sweetness of maple syrup with the savory taste of fig balsamic and you’ve got the first two ingredients in this maple fig balsamic vinaigrette. I am on a sweet kick this week. Lucky for me, maple syrup is not only aclean alternative, it’s also healthier than white sugar.

I actually have not been to the store or ordered any local foods lately so I am using what I have in the fridge and pantry. It is really easy to mix things up to make a snack or meal and even something as simple as this three ingredient vinaigrette can elevate meals to the next level. The possibilities for using this vinaigrette are almost endless.

Serve itin a rice bowl with sauted or roasted vegetables or add a few more ingredients to make a marinade for chicken, steak, or salmon. Top it on a salad with fresh sliced apples for lunch or serve it on green beans for a delicious side dish.
