The 2017 Pennsylvania Farm Show
The 2017 Pennsylvania Farm Show ends today at 5 pm. If you didn’t have a chance to make it this year, I highly recommend planning a trip next year. I am still trying to figure out the best time to avoid large crowds. I thought if I took a day off of work during the week and went in the early afternoon, it wouldn’t be so bad. I was wrong because I chose the one day that every single nearby school decided to have a field trip to the farm show. Next year, I am going to go on a Tuesday morning and see how that works out. Have you ever been to the farm show when there wasn’t a big crowd? Let me know the best time to go!
First thing I did was get a milkshake. Half chocolate and half vanilla is the way to go. I got called into work at the last minute so I did not get to spend as much time as I wanted to see everything, but I still managed quite a few things. Check out the cows, goats, and sheep:
The main hall with the commercial exhibits is my favorite part of the Farm Show. I didn’t take too many pictures because of all the people, but check out this year’s butter sculpture:
I also didn’t spend as much money as I thought I would. I met the owner of Blind Spot Nut Butters! She is super nice! I bought more Squirrely Tail nut butter. It’s definitely my staple. I also bought Pig Sty, a maple bacon flavored nut butter. From the maple syrup stand, I bought maple sugar to try out with some new recipes. I was going to make my own, which I still might, but it was easier to buy it and try it out first. Finally, I bought some peach wine from Armstrong Valley Vineyard and Winery.
Catch you at next year’s Farm Show!
